$250 Million to Rebuild Defective Lynwood High School to be Paid for by State

Lynwood High School’s 20-year old campus was shutdown after a major structural failure resulted in eight tons of concrete and metal roofing crashed down onto the main concourse. Safety inspections uncovered dangerous defects which will result in the demolishment of the main three-story building containing 110 classrooms.

The state has agreed to pay $250 million for the construction of a new classroom building as well as to make other necessary repairs.
