Sylvia Uriegas received the call to report to the scene of one of the nation’s worst school shootings. Having been warned of an “emergency,” only upon her arrival did she become aware of what was happening inside the Uvalde school. Her bus became a makeshift ambulance that carried kids with gunshot wounds to the hospital.
