The new state budget agreement includes a one-year extension of the Proposition 39 encumbrance deadline to June 30, 2019. Due to the hard work of the School Energy Coalition (SEC), the new policy allows for more time beyond the August 1, 2017 deadline for LEA Energy Expenditure Plans (EEP), and pending Budget Trailer Bill language would extend the Proposition 39 school energy funding program indefinitely contingent upon the appropriation of funds by the Legislature.
