State Allocation Board April meeting highlights

The State Allocation Board held a short meeting in April to conduct routine business. Priority Funding apportionments eligible in April will be considered at the May meeting. Here are the updates:

School District Time Extension Request– The Office of Public School Construction (OPSC) has created an online extension request form for school districts that are unable to meet OPSC’s response deadlines. The form can be found online here. OPSC will review the request and, if approved, send approval of the requests to the District Representative.  Click here for the OPSC form…

Career Technical Education Facilities Program Deadline Extended– OPSC has extended the deadline for CTE Grant Applications which were due to OPSC on or before April 6, 2020. The Application for Career Technical Education Funding (Form SAB 50-10) is now due to OPSC on or before June 30, 2020.

Priority Funding Closing Date Extended– The next priority funding filing period will begin on May 13, 2020 and will now close on August 28, 2020. These requests will be valid from July 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020. All projects receiving an Unfunded Approval through the August 2020 State Allocation Board (SAB) meeting will be eligible to submit a request.

Future Priority Funding Apportionments– The SAB agenda did not include Priority Funding Apportionments. State General Obligation Bond sales took place in March and April. OPSC anticipates that sufficient funds will be available to provide apportionments at the May 27, 2020 SAB meeting for all eligible projects that chose to participate in the current Priority Funding filing round.
